Welcome Maya Horii and Joel Pulliam to Room to Read's #Japan Regional Board! A senior partner at McKinsey & Company Japan, Maya has worked with governments, international organizations, foundations and global nonprofits on a range of topics, including women’s empowerment, financial inclusion and digital transformation. She has an M.P.A. in international development from Harvard Kennedy School and a B.A. in social studies from Harvard University. Joel is an award-winning photographer and bookmaker. His works have been displayed in museums and galleries around the world. He has a B.A. in history and literature from Harvard University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and has served as the Deputy Assistant General Counsel for the United States Department of the Treasury. First co-published with Adarna House in the Philippines, “Dancing Hands” was published for a global audience by our partner Chronicle Books last year.
