About the Business
Profeta Farms is trying something different. We're not just trying to remove all the "bad stuff" from our food (pesticides, chemical fertilizers, GMOs, etc.), as mandated by the USDA organic certification, but we also strive to add back all of the "good stuff" missing from conventional food. We call this approach Beyond Organic. Starting from the ground up, the process begins by boosting soil health. We reduce tillage, supplement with compost, and plant cover crops to work depleted nutrients back into the soil. This fully mineralized and biologically active foundation lends its health to the plants that grow in it, a trend that follows the food chain all the way up to you, at the top. Healthy soils yields healthy people. Something else we're adding back to the system is the means by which we raise our cows, pigs, and chickens: they are raised in a manner that we and our customers believe they should be raised. The animals on this farm don't just "have access" to the outside - they live primarily outside, as they were meant to, foraging and grazing for their food, which has grown with the help of our robust soil. By developing this diverse food system, we aim to provide a unique all-in-one experience for our customers where they will be able to purchase the majority of their food from a single local, organic, and sustainable source

So stopped in, have passed it several time. Wasn't sure what it even was but saw a sign that they sold meat and ice cream. It was a small designer grocery. Got some steaks, they were amazing, juicy, tender, melt in your mouth. Super fresh vegetables and lots of designer cheese. Will definitely be back.

I have mixed feeling about this place. I love the look, layout and complete set-up of this place. From the bakery to the pizza which I love to fresh fruit and vegetable market area, the cheese station, the sandwich ordering area. This place is pretty darn nice. I have yet to try the ice cream though. Only complaint about this spot is they are still working through the kinks. Lil bit unorganized and some attitude in the air as far as the employees. Over all i like what they are doing and i hope to change my review over time. Oh yeah and tell the girl working on the cheese to wear gloves and stop eating the cheese while she's working on it.

Today was our second time at the new store. Mostly we LOVE it. Amazing bread (baguette is our favorite), great cheese counter with helpful mongers, maple pea an ice cream is delish, and twice we've bought the smoked onion dip (even the toddler loves it).
All that is GREAT so why not 5 stars???
Today I had the pork belly bahn mi special. I was super excited because I love pork belly and I love bahn mi sandwiches; often making them at home. This one was disappointing. Pork belly was a huge slab instead of slices so you bit right into a ton of fat with no meat; slicing the pork belly solves that problem. The pickled veg was colorful and crunchy but not pickled enough to cut through the fattiness of the pork belly. The roll needed to be crunchier and felt like it was buttered/toasted which played into the extreme fattiness. it needed some spice too; flavor was one note with the low acidity in the pickled veg and no spice. Finally, the pate was wrapped in paper and I had to pull it off - big no no! Not worth the $10, bu like I said, there a ton of other great things here, they just need to get better at making sandwiches
UPDATE - I reached out to Profeta Farms almost immediately after receiving their request to do so....a week+ later and zero response.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I passed by the other day and their pumpkins caught my eye, so I stopped in. I didn't buy anything, but their organic selections looked pretty decently priced and boasted a large selection of meats, which was pretty impressive.

Very nice upscale farm market. Good looking meats and veggies with some unusual gourmet shelf items. Found the bagged coffees, while varied, were about two dollars more expensive than the same brands at other local markets.
The place is divided into two areas... The farm market is on the right, and there's a ready-to-eat or takeaway food court on the left as well as the checkout area.
There's a BBQ and made to order sandwich bar, a very nice cheese selection, a salad/deli bar, pizza and hot rolls bar, bakery and gelato bar.
Tried the hot and fresh BBQ brisket pretzel roll for a quick (filling) lunch... Really, really tasty and recommended for a calorie splurge. Because I had that, I resisted the bakery counter, though it all looked very tempting.
They've gone to a lot of effort to make sure all of their consumables, including the 'plastic' bags, are compostable, which is nice.
Comfortable seating if eating there either inside or outdoors... Both covered and open to the sun. There are nice clean toilet facilities for washing your hands afterwards.
Easy access and parking with a light to get across 202 right at their corner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Unique V.New York, NY0167132Nov 11, 2020Updated review
They fixed the bathroom issue so their reviews went up. They have amazing pure bacon available for special order!!! Thank you.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 17, 2019Previous reviewThe Large store is officially open after the temporary transitional trailer-size shop and the burger truck Both Permanently closed during the actual store creation. It's now a fun bigger store to find organic vegetables via some from their Biodynamic farm and some from other organic farms and pre-packages. Someone said this is Not Sustainably done so you be the judge. As long as the additives used in th biodynamics are organic and not chemical then it's seems ok, right? (but will the USA allow that?) Chicken eggs ought to be fed food that does Not contain corn, soy, flax, chia as all the corn is gmo and chicken owners claim that's more expensive so let's hope Profetta reads this! The filet mignon is sold fresh and it's Amazing after you cook it. The ice cream has a too much sugar so I hope they can reduce sugar/additives but it's yummy in a fresh made cinnamon waffle cone. They have plenty of pre-made foods with "spices" to satisfy the MSG cravers (search the web to get smarter: slow poisoning of america ---to avoid those nasty hidden MSGs!). The prices are expensive but that's NJ! It's good to support local farms.

This is a lovely country market with the farm nearby. They have fresh produce, meats, dairy, and flowers. The ice cream is so delicious! They also give tractor-wagon rides around the farm, which looked like a ton of fun for the families aboard! We were just passing through and didn't have a lot of time to spend, but I hope to make it back to Profeta Farms in the future!

Great farm market. Lots of good organic and farm fresh food here. Be prepared to pay some higher prices though as this is very high quality organic straight from the farm stuff. Friendly staff, however we kind of had to stand at 2 different counters waiting for someone to help us. They saw us there just didn't come over. We stood there like why are they ignoring us?
So we got some cold salads but missed out on a big order of desserts. Standing at the dessert counter for 5 minutes while someone was rinsing out containers at the sink and 2 others just were talking. I was going to get a lot of stuff to go but decided to forget it after the ignoring. I'll be back but when I have a lot more time
Definitely go here, just look for older people behind the counter if you want to get helped quickly.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T D.Los Angeles, CA89447Aug 22, 2020
I've been coming to this place since the beginning and while it never caught its footing to head in an uphill direction, now they just lack on all fronts. They've closed down most of their market space and now it's just a small small area of what once was. They don't have as many products. They are using hydroponics instead of high quality organic produce and their staff are mostly rude - not all but enough. High prices. Low quality. Questionable organic practices. No customer service and they change their hours constantly. Management needs an overhaul on a market with no DNA. Sad but it's reality.

Live about 2 hours away, took my boyfriend here to purchase the organic chocolate milk... was passing by the area a while ago and wanted to make the trip. finally made the trip down and arrived at today 5:30... hours online said they close 6- not the case because the parking lot was completely dark and the doors were closed. Called to check if they were open, no answer. Drove back disappointed with my cooler w. Clearly obviously disappointed because this place was going to be good but was not open like their hours stated.
Update- got a reply, the place that I drove to did not appear to be a farm stand, it was a structured building with doors and shopping carts... more like a market.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information
