Prevention Resources, Inc. is the longest-standing prevention agency in Hunterdon County, NJ. Since 1971, they have cultivated healthy and drug-free communities by providing evidence-based programs and counseling, as well as engaging in policy advocacy and collaborative work. Prevention Resources works to empower the counties they serve to flourish and thrive by maintaining healthy life choices through access to quality programs and services. Prevention Resources has experienced tremendous growth over the years from its founding as an Information and Referral Center, to its current structure of three divisions serving over 15,000 people directly, and many more through our Coalitions and Environmental change strategy initiatives. Prevention Resources as an agency is broken into three divisions: Family Success Centers, Prevention Services and Support Services. The year Prevention Resources received 2 National Recognitions for their work, a Blue-Ribbon collation of Excellence Award for the Drug Free Task Force, which is a partnership with the Partnership for Health, law enforcement, the education and business community and other community stakeholders. In addition, they received the Dose of Prevention Award for the work of the Safe Communities Coalition. To qualify for the award mentioned, PR raised public awareness of the dangers of prescription and over-the-counter medicine misuse on a macro-scale, professional level. Thank you all who participate and help Prevention Resources thrive across the counties mentioned! A special thanks to the two Co-Executive Directors Karen Widico and Lesley Gabel. Congratulations!
