EAGLES THROUGH A PHOTOGRAPHER’S LENS Date: Wednesday, February 5 (snow date February 12) Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Location: Arboretum Ages: 8 through adult Guest Presenter: Bob Reith, Wildlife Photographer Cost: $3 You are invited to look into the lives and behaviors of Bald Eagles through the camera lens of Bob Reith, wildlife photographer based in northern New Jersey. Through photos and other multimedia actions, interactions among eagles will be displayed with commentary and discussion. Compare the photos with the new taxidermied eagle at the Arboretum to see their size and power! RIZZO’S WILDLIFE WORLD BUS TRIP Date: Saturday, February 8 Time: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Location: Arboretum Ages: 8 through adults Cost: $27 Rizzo’s Wildlife World has provided quality animal shows in New Jersey and the surrounding areas for many years. Recently, Rizzo’s opened an indoor zoo in Budd Lake, which spans nearly 5,000 square feet with an assortment of exhibit space, including over 2,000 gallons of aquatic exhibits. Get up close and personal with birds, bugs, lizards, snakes, turtles, small mammals, and many other creatures. We will meet at the Hunterdon County Arboretum and travel in a Link bus to the zoo, where we will enjoy a private one-hour wildlife show and then have about 30 minutes to view the other animals in the gallery. Rizzo’s has performed at Parks events like Summer Nature Program and Earth Day, but we have asked them to showcase several non-travelling animals for this program to provide a new twist on their show. THE WILDLIFE OF NEW ZEALAND Date: Wednesday, February 19 Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Location: Arboretum Ages: 8 through adult Cost: $3 New Zealand is a small but beautiful country with scenery consisting of coastline, mountains, and sheep farms. From parrots to kiwis to penguins, New Zealand has some unusual birds! Human-introduced mammals are now also relatively common. There are also a few species of rare reptiles, amphibians, and bats. Join Senior Park Naturalist Laura Bush on a photographic journey through this remarkable country! Leave the strollers behind as we take a walk outside to see plants and animals around us. We will use our senses to focus on each theme.
